Pokemon TCG Delta Reign releases in Australia on November 6, 2026. This Mega Evolution set brings Mega Rayquaza ex back to the game for the first time since 2015, plus three more new Mega Evolution ex cards and a brand new connected-art stadium mechanic.
What is Delta Reign?
Delta Reign carries the set code ME06 and is the sixth English set in the Mega Evolution series. It is the English version of the Japanese set Storm Emeralda, which released on July 31, 2026. The main set contains 113 cards, and an additional 37 Secret Rares bring the full card count above 150.
The headline feature is the return of Mega Rayquaza ex. Rayquaza has not had a Mega Evolution card in the TCG since the XY era set Roaring Skies in 2015. For collectors who have tracked Rayquaza through the years, this is a significant return.
Australian Release Date and Prerelease Events
Delta Reign hits shelves on November 6, 2026, worldwide including Australia.
Prerelease events run from October 24 to November 1, 2026, about a week before the official street date. At a prerelease, you build a small deck from a preset 23-card Evolution Pack, compete with local participants, and receive an exclusive stamped promo card from the set. It is also the earliest opportunity to open packs from the new set legally.
To find a prerelease near you on the Gold Coast or in Brisbane, check the Pokemon event locator at pokemon.com or ask at your local game store.
Products and Australian Prices
These are the Delta Reign products with approximate Australian retail pricing, based on AU distributor data at the time of writing. Prices will vary by retailer and may shift before the November launch.
Single Booster Pack, approximately $11.90.
Ten cards per pack. Suitable for casual collectors or filling specific gaps in a set.
Booster Bundle, approximately $99.
Six packs together. A solid mid-point before committing to a full box.
Elite Trainer Box, approximately $199.
Nine booster packs plus an exclusive full-art foil Kyogre promo card. The Kyogre promo is available only through the ETB. Japanese equivalent promos from the Storm Emeralda ETB settled around $25 AUD, so the promo does not dramatically offset the price, but it is the only way to get that specific card. The ETB also includes card sleeves, a damage counter set, and a deck box.
Booster Box, approximately $409.
Thirty-six packs. The standard product for serious collectors and investors. At that volume, you are paying roughly $11.36 per pack. English pull rates are not yet confirmed, but the Japanese Storm Emeralda set provides a rough baseline.
Four New Mega Evolutions to Know
Delta Reign introduces four Mega Evolution ex cards that anchor the set.
Mega Rayquaza ex is the set mascot and the card with the most collector attention. It appears in multiple rarity tiers: a Double Rare for competitive play, a Special Illustration Rare for collectors, and a Mega Ultra Rare (the gold hyper rare version) as the top chase pull.
Mega Golisopod ex and Mega Golurk ex are the secondary chase cards. Golurk ex has a Special Illustration Rare version that attracted attention in the Japanese market after Storm Emeralda launched. Both also appear as Double Rares in the main set for players building decks.
Mega Malamar ex rounds out the lineup. Malamar built a dedicated following during the Forbidden Light era, so this return has drawn interest from collectors of older prints.
The Connected Stadium Cards
A new feature in Delta Reign is the Legendary Stadium pairing. Two separate Stadium cards, when placed side by side, form one wide piece of artwork. This is a callback to the LEGEND card mechanic from the HeartGold and SoulSilver era, where two cards combined to display a single Legendary Pokemon across the pair. The paired Stadiums are not required for gameplay, but they will be popular with collectors who display or frame their cards.
Chase Cards: What Collectors Are Targeting
If you are opening packs or shopping for singles from Delta Reign, here is the order of what the market is watching most closely.
Mega Rayquaza ex Mega Ultra Rare (gold hyper rare): The rarest card in the set. Pull rates in the Japanese equivalent Storm Emeralda were very low, with secondary market prices in Japan reaching above $1,565 AUD equivalent before English launch. English prices will differ from these figures once the set releases.
Mega Rayquaza ex Special Illustration Rare: Illustrated by Kazuki Minami, winner of the 2024 Pokemon TCG Illustration Contest. Japanese market values for this card settled around $840 AUD equivalent. Strong pre-release demand from collectors who followed the Storm Emeralda market.
Raikou ex Special Illustration Rare: The clear second-tier chase card in the set. Raikou ex features in the main expansion, and its SIR version held consistent value in the Japanese print run.
Mega Golurk ex Special Illustration Rare: A third-tier chase target worth watching for Golurk collectors.
Groudon Illustration Rare: A more accessible mid-tier card. Groudon is a Legendary with wide collector appeal, and Illustration Rares land at a lower price point than the SIR and Ultra Rare versions.
A note on timing: if you plan to buy singles rather than open packs, the first two to three weeks after November 6 tend to see higher prices driven by release demand. Prices often settle over the following month as supply moves through the market.
Open Packs or Buy Singles?
The better option depends on what you want from the set.
Open packs if: you enjoy the experience of pulling cards, want a chance at multiple value cards across a box, or are working toward a complete set. At $409 per booster box, you are taking a swing at a hit each pack.
Buy singles if: you have a specific card in mind, particularly the Mega Rayquaza ex SIR or Mega Ultra Rare, and want to avoid spending $409 or more chasing one card. Singles are also the better move if you need a card for competitive play, since you control the condition when buying directly.
One factor to consider: the 30th Celebration Ultra-Premium Collections also release on November 6. Some collector spending will split between the two products on launch day. This could create a short window to pick up Delta Reign singles at slightly lower prices in the first week while attention is divided.
