Pokemon TCG Release Calendar Australia 2026

If you are trying to work out what Pokemon TCG product is coming next and when it actually lands in Australia, here is the confirmed list for the rest of 2026, plus what we know so far about early 2027. Australian street dates almost always sit a few days to a couple of weeks behind the US date, so treat US release news as an early warning, not a shopping date.

What has already shipped this year

The Mega Evolution era has been the backbone of 2026. Ascended Heroes (Mega Set 1) and Phantasmal Flames (Mega Set 2) both released earlier in the year and are still turning up in restocks. Prismatic Evolutions, Destined Rivals and Journey Together from the tail end of the Scarlet & Violet run are also still floating around in some stores. If a shop tells you any of these are hard to find everywhere, check twice. Older sets almost always resurface in smaller top-up shipments for months after the big launch week.

The rest of 2026, set by set

Mega Evolution: Perfect Order (Mega Set 3) landed in late March, with Australian retailers listing it as available from around 27 March.

Mega Evolution: Chaos Rising (Mega Set 4) released 22 May 2026 and leans into a Mega Greninja ex, ninja-themed mechanic. This one sold through fast at a lot of brick and mortar stores within its first fortnight, based on collector reports at the time.

Mega Evolution: Pitch Black (Mega Set 5) released 17 July 2026, built around Mega Darkrai ex and Mega Zeraora ex. By August, several Australian retailers had booster boxes sold through and were only carrying single packs and ETBs.

First Partner Illustration Collection, Series 3 released 7 August 2026, the third wave of a promo series pairing starter Pokemon illustrations by region (this wave covers Hoenn, Kalos and Paldea starters). Retailers flagged this print run as tighter than earlier waves in the series.

Mega Forces Tin followed on 28 August 2026.

Pokemon 30th Celebration is rolling out in three separate waves rather than one launch: the ex Box wave from 16 September 2026, a Binder Box wave from 2 October 2026, and a Build & Battle Deck wave from 30 October 2026. If you only remember one date from this article, make it 16 September, since that is when the anniversary product first hits shelves.

Pokemon TCG ME06: Delta Reign (Mega Set 6) is the last confirmed main set of 2026, releasing 6 November 2026 with prereleases running from around 24 October. It is a substantial set, with reports of more than 135 cards including four new Mega Evolution Pokemon ex, plus Elite Trainer Box, Build and Battle Box, Booster Bundle and the usual run of blister and checklane products. Booster boxes, packs and the ETB all carry Kyogre and Rayquaza-led artwork depending on the product.

What we know about early 2027

Right now there is no officially confirmed English set release date beyond Delta Reign. Set tracking sites that watch the Japanese release schedule (Delta Reign is the English localisation of Japan's Storm Emeralda) will usually name the next Japanese set a month or two before The Pokemon Company confirms an English release, so if you want the earliest possible warning, keep an eye on Japanese set reveals rather than waiting for an official English announcement. We will update this article as soon as a 2027 date is confirmed.

Why Australian dates move around

Australian distribution runs through separate wholesale channels from the US, so a US street date is not a promise for local shelves. Delays of a few days are common, and a handful of sets have shipped here two to three weeks after the US date in past years. The safest habit is to treat any date you read, including the ones in this article, as "expected" until your local shop confirms stock is physically in the building.

Pre-orders and allocation, in plain terms

Pokemon TCG allocation works like this: distributors decide how much stock each retailer gets based on past order volume and account history, not on how badly customers want it. A shop that has sold Pokemon product steadily for years gets a bigger allocation than a shop that only orders around hyped releases. That is why the same set can be sitting on shelves at one store and sold out within an hour at another two suburbs over.

Pre-ordering with a local shop, rather than waiting to walk in on release day, is the most reliable way to get product at RRP. Most Gold Coast and Brisbane stores open pre-orders four to eight weeks before a street date and will hold your order against their confirmed allocation. Paying up front (or leaving a deposit) locks your unit in before the shelf stock is exposed to walk-in demand. Retailer blogs tracking the 2026 calendar have specifically noted allocations tightening on the First Partner Illustration Collection waves and on Pitch Black booster boxes, both of which sold through their pre-order lists before the street date arrived.

If a listing shows Elite Trainer Boxes priced well above RRP in the days before release, that is a reseller, not the distributor's price. Legitimate Australian retailers selling at RRP are the ones worth building a relationship with over time, because allocation rewards return customers.
